really? Well I guess you're advertising in the real world AND on the web.

If you're new to programming, I recommend checking out Blitz. It's REALLY simple and teaches concepts that are used in programming, in a really simple way. So instead of using this:

Code:

public void KeyDown(KeyPressed e, Sender o){

if(keypressed == 2){

code to move player...

}
}

(please note, this is roughly based off of some java but it won't really work XD)

you will do this:

Code:

If KeyDown(ESCKEY)
  Code to move player...
EndIf

Easy right? Trust me it's probably one of my favorite languages. Not only is it easy to learn and use, but it's really powerful too!

The only problem with it is that you can't make anything like Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer because it's only built for making games... But hey what's wrong with that? (Nothing!)

Anyways Welcome to the forum, I'm Nighthawk0973 but you can call me Nighthawk or Night. (I ALWAYS go by Nighthawk0973 when I can, so if you see a Nighthawk0973 somewhere, ask them if they are the same Nighthawk0973 as I am!)

Have fun learning programming and spread the word about the Programming Language Community Forums (PLCF) so that we can all have a more active community!

If you have a question about programming just tell me k?

You are the only one on the forum that I actually know. Nighthawk is a moderator because he earned it, not because I know him. As for administrators, I am the only admin, and I am keeping it that way.

Every number is unique, just like every single human and should be treated as such. Remeber without numbers we are nothing but cave men, but with them we are mad men.Wink

he was pointing to his profile

also, I don't know DB. I move too much anyways.

Edit: I agree, Nerds are awesome, especially since all those people who love facebook and youtube and all them video games, while they might make fun of nerds, would have nothing to do with their life if nerds didn't make all those things Smile

hmmm... am I sensing a relationship between you and DB here? XD

DO IT FOR THE LULZ!!!!Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Na seriously...

Code:
#include <iostream>
#include <string>

class Member{
private:
          std :: string mem_name , mem_type;//Members name/Member type
          bool banned;
          unsigned  int awsmness , intell;
public :
          Member(std::string , std :: string , int , int , bool);
          //Some more code that I can't think about now...
};

Member :: Member (std :: string mem_name , std :: string mem_type , int awsmness , int intell , bool banned){
/*NOTE : I HATE init lists they look ugly.
That is why I did not use them. :P
*/

this->mem_name = mem_name;
this->mem_type = mem_type;
this->awsmness = awsmness;
this->intell = intell;
this->banned = banned;
}

int main(){

Member nghtHwk("Nighthawk0973" , "moderator" , 100 , 100 , false);
//More members...

std :: cout << "You have just been pwned by C++\n";
std :: cout << "Also nerdgirl13 if you want to learn C++...don't start with this example.\n";

std :: cin.get();
return 0;
}
//LAWL I made this without any bugs. :O

Please nerdgirl DO NOT let the above code discourage you from learning a programming language. Please. I had to do it though, it is SO much fun to own DB...with code.

Let's modifly the above code... since DB so happily pointed out how my brain works seperately from my hands, thus resulting in bad grammar...

Code:

#include <iostream>
#include <windows.h>
#include <string>

struct Member{
          std :: string mem_name , mem_type;//Members name/Member type
          bool banned;
          unsigned  int awsmness , intell;
          Member(std::string , std :: string , int , int , bool);
          //Some more code that I can't think about now...
};

Member :: Member (std :: string mem_name , std :: string mem_type , int awsmness , int intell , bool banned){
/*NOTE : I HATE init lists they look ugly.
That is why I did not use them. :P
*/

this->mem_name = mem_name;
this->mem_type = mem_type;
this->awsmness = awsmness;
this->intell = intell;
this->banned = banned;
}

int main(){

Member nghtHwk("Nighthawk0973" , "moderator" , 100 , 100 , false);
Member DB("David B." , "Admin" , 100 , 100 , false);

DB.awsmness = NULL;//:P

//Then I get over it...slowly...

while(DB.awsmness <=100){
DB.awsmness++;
Sleep(500);
}

std :: cin.get();
return 0;
}

Yeah my grammar/spelling is bad only because there is a slight major discrepancy between what my hands do and what my brain wants to do.

I'm not very good at C++. You started using a bunch of classes and private/public variables... ugh. Possible to write code with simple cout statement and get same results? Very Happy

Right now, C++ is all I know. I spent all of last school year reading a beginners book on it, and now I am finally beginning to get into actual C++, and not just functional C++.

P.S.: Who thinks that my advertisement is awesome! Like this post if you think it is!

My code may seem complex, but it really is not and it is much better then the "simple" cout statment. If I were to explain to you what cout REALLY is you would be screaming for your mum. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

I already know what cout REALLY is. I read about it in my C++ beginners book. (If I recall, it was the forth to last chapter.)
