Alice on these forums?

Do you think the PLCF should have a forum on Alice and Unity?

How come you don't have a topic on alice or unity?

That is something that I haven't done because both Unity and Alice have there on forums, but if it is your wish, I may add them. I am going to add a poll to this thread because I want to know just how many people agree with the idea?

I don't agree with this. Both Alice and Unity not only have their own dedicated forums to begin with, but the two programs are not programming languages. The title of this forum is 'Programming Language Community Forums', and as Unity is a program used for making games, and Alice is a language extremely similar to Java built to teach kids Java without showing them the terrible truth (Java is not plain English Very Happy) therefore none of these are programming languages and none should go on this forum. While it would be all nice and dandy to have alice on here if you actually used alice, it would be a big waste. If you need to learn Alice & Unity (which, for the record, Alice isn't exactly that popular and chances are your average person who can program doesn't know what it is...) than they have their own forums for that.

Just my opinion,

So far, nighthawk has convinced me against the idea of a forum for Unity and Alice, but perhaps someone else can change my mind...

Nighthawk is right. Alice is a program a cool one, but a program none the less. Now it was coded in Java which is a programming language. Unity3D is the same thing which uses C#, a version of Python, and Javascript(which is not a programming lanugage).

I thought JavaScript was only for web design.

I'm not really part of this topic as such, but as an FYI

...and Javascript(which is not a programming lanugage).

Javascript IS a programming language. A client-side web programming language.
It creates programatic interactivity on a web page.

Just so you know.

Oh I am sorry, misclarification. In my context, when I said "not a programming language" I meant that Javascript is a and can only be used as a scripting lanugage. Python(Slight exception; it can be used as a scripting language, but it does not have to be), C#, and Java however are not. By definition, yes they are all programming languages(i.e. they tell the computer to do something), but there are different sub-classes.Sorry for the mis-clarification.

Code:
if(programmingLanguage.canBeReadInNotePad == true){
      programmingLanguage.isScripting = true;
}
else if(programmingLanguage.canBeReadInNotePad == false)//I.E bunch of random sybols.{
      programmingLanguage.isScripting = false;

}

Haha yes i get you.

They both program interactivity, but javascript doesn't make programs thats for sure.
Fair statement.

Suggestion Rejected: I am not going to do this unless more reasoning about as to why this is necessary to do is provided.
